Stilian Petrov is a cunt, isn’t he?

McGinn is giving a good interview.

  • 7 May 2026, 10:24 p.m.

Well, sorry lads. Despite now being up for about 46 hours, bar 2 hours with my head planted on my laptop, I still managed to stay awake for this match -- which of course meant I witnessed zero Forest goals. Finally off to bed soon and don't plan to see the sun set or rise.

C'mon Freiburg. I don't wanna see that wanker Martinez humping another trophy.

  • 7 May 2026, 10:25 p.m.

We would've been better off all round in the Conference league.

I could have done without the Prince William close-ups.

  • 7 May 2026, 10:33 p.m.

Really? I think a SF is a decent return. It might have been a better game if we had a full side. But losing to Villa was always the most likely outcome

  • 7 May 2026, 10:38 p.m.

It is. But I would have rather won the Conference League than got to the SF of the Europa, wouldn't you?

And I think we would have very likely won it. It may also have impaired our league season less, which would have been nice.

  • 7 May 2026, 10:47 p.m.

No. I always viewed Europa as a good test for us. Conference would have been as much of a distraction, maybe a couple of games fewer.
I haven't been to any away games but I think those that have travelled have had a blast at some seriously impressive places. There are several on here who can comment. Not sure that would be the same in the conference. I’ve been to a few home games and it’s quite a buzz when some of those teams turn up.

  • 7 May 2026, 10:47 p.m.

Probably Savona, because both Williams and Aina can play RB.
But at that point I'd have been tempted by Morato.

    Given my pessimism, possibly Wood.

  • 7 May 2026, 11:06 p.m.

Unlike those who follow the current trend of being bitter about rival teams from the same country, I shall be wanting Villa to win the final. Proper historic football club.

  • 7 May 2026, 11:10 p.m.

    Fuck that. Come on Freiburg.

  • 7 May 2026, 11:15 p.m.

It's amazing how attached to outcomes in sport unsporting people can be.

In other news the players appeared to be respectful and sporting towards each other at the end of the game.

  • 7 May 2026, 11:20 p.m.

I don't mind Villa, but Lee Hendrie was a right cunt goading the away fans towards the end so for that alone I hope they fuck it up.

Though this did lead to the highlight of the evening.

Forest fan in the disabled section in front of us on a mobility scooter ramming the advertising hoardings shouting 'Come on, I'll fucking do you' at Mr Hendrie.

  • 7 May 2026, 11:44 p.m.

Yeah I'm fine with Villa, as you say they're a proper club. McGinn can go fuck himself though.

  • 7 May 2026, 11:51 p.m.

I'll also be cheering for Arsenal in the UCL final.

Palace can go fuck themselves though, vamos Rayo!

  • 8 May 2026, 12:20 a.m.

Never met a Villa fan I didn’t like. I hope they win, but will blame them forever if Spurs escape relegation by less than three points.

  • 8 May 2026, 12:23 a.m.

That's how I feel too. A few folk here might be disappointed if their win means a B team gets Champs League, which looks likely.

  • 8 May 2026, 2:01 a.m.

    Ridiculous.

McGinn is everything the Forest midfield is missing. Strong, canny, dirty and a driving force for the whole Villa side. I doubt we would have got hammered if he wasn't playing. We looked a mess from the off. I am not sure what formation we were playing at all and I am not sure the rest of the Forest side did either.

We were getting killed in Midfield and at the back because their press was relentless and excellent. It just wasn't going to be and I McAtee going off was odd unless he was injured because his creativity was missing. Just a massive let down unfortunately. We just didn't have an answer.

I think a three at the back and a packed midfield would have given us a chance. Wood was massively isolated. Just a poor night at the office and give credit for Villa they were ready from the beginning. We didn't have an answer and this is the first itme Periera looked lost. Shame.

Having said that, the squad for this competition was mightily unbalanced so Vitor didn't have many choices.. Nice he gave jimmy Sinclair a run at the end.

I don't begrudge Villa the victory. They were waaaay better. At least we probably lost to the winners of the competition.

Anyway Taiwo time on Sunday so that's nice... And of course saved oodles of money trying to leg it to Europe at short notice...

Chicago: Looking on the bright side..
