    Ridiculous.

McGinn is everything the Forest midfield is missing. Strong, canny, dirty and a driving force for the whole Villa side. I doubt we would have got hammered if he wasn't playing. We looked a mess from the off. I am not sure what formation we were playing at all and I am not sure the rest of the Forest side did either.

We were getting killed in Midfield and at the back because their press was relentless and excellent. It just wasn't going to be and I McAtee going off was odd unless he was injured because his creativity was missing. Just a massive let down unfortunately. We just didn't have an answer.

I think a three at the back and a packed midfield would have given us a chance. Wood was massively isolated. Just a poor night at the office and give credit for Villa they were ready from the beginning. We didn't have an answer and this is the first itme Periera looked lost. Shame.

Having said that, the squad for this competition was mightily unbalanced so Vitor didn't have many choices.. Nice he gave jimmy Sinclair a run at the end.

I don't begrudge Villa the victory. They were waaaay better. At least we probably lost to the winners of the competition.

Anyway Taiwo time on Sunday so that's nice... And of course saved oodles of money trying to leg it to Europe at short notice...

Chicago: Looking on the bright side..

But that would have meant one of Hutchinson, Cunha or Lucca couldn’t have been added. Ok, easy choice but not given the manager at the time, which is part of the problem - the managers who the squads were picked for/by didn’t get to stick around to use them.

If we'd kept Kalimuendo we wouldn't have needed a replacement striker.

We played the same tactics as in the previous few games with McAtee replacing Morgan but it wasn't anywhere near as effective because our press was not as good and their press was excellent so we kept giving the ball away. And McAtee has qualities going forward less so defending unlike Morgan who is one of the best defensive/offensive players in the league.

We’re back to muddled thinking with the managers.

Yeah don’t even begrudge despite John McGinn and Lee Hendrie being the cunt he is at the end.

A villa mate sent a message after the game which was very contrite and I generally think they are like that.

I wanted Villa to win until I’d seen the B team quandry.

    Quite the conundrum.

    Ich bin ein Freiburger…

Bloke at our hotel has come to breakfast in a Villa top.

    He looks a bit incongruous

His wife hasn't spoken to him the whole time we were there

Last night was what we thought Monday was going to be. Last night's team + subs was even worse than Monday's team + subs and last night's opposition rather better.
Add Bayern and its been quite a disappointing couple of days. And I couldn't give a toss who wins any of the finals.
    Happy Birthday to me.

Why all the hate for John McGinn? Does it stem back to some previous incident which I might have missed?

    That’s a long list

Didn't he also come out with some shit in the week about how Villa were a home grown team and Forest had just spent a fortune.

And all you folks who have never met a cunty Villa fan I'm guessing haven't been to Villa Park recently! Not the majority for sure but plenty (as with most clubs)

The team were battered last night. Everyone will have a different view on why, perhaps Villa were just better, perhaps we had too many injuries, perhaps the manager got selection and formation wrong, perhaps the ghost of Dyche cursed us, perhaps the vibes have finally run out.

Its certainly going to be interesting to see how manager no 4 responds, as he's been a lucky manager so far and very good at bringing the vibes. Can he sustain that, or will we see the Wolves 25/26 version emerge once reality hits?

Personally, I have hated this season and just want it over (as long as we stay up)

Feels like Sunday is going to be a struggle. Hard to see any of the players who were apparently just filling spaces on the bench last night being able to play three days later. Perfect set up to give West Ham a bit of hope before they kick off.

    Netz and Taiwo back.
    Newcastle are also quite shit.
    That's all I've got.
