Got a 10k in the morning. Should be a bit cooler.

Lived. Was hot but not as insanely hot as last year. Under an hour which is fine for me.
I followed up Saturdays parkrun with 7 miles yesterday lunchtime, including a 58min 10k in the heat, although I don't really mind running when it's hot.
That's top notch fat bastard pace.
I didn't realise Brackenhurst had a 10k downhill slope
Brack was a 5k Loaf, I did 10k at Holme Pierrepont on Sunday.
I'm even more surprised there's a 10k downward slope at Holme Pierrepont, given the lakes and all.
Could also go in What's Amusing Me. My new Garmin watch has an enhanced sleep-tracking function which is supposed to map your sleep over three weeks and then tell you how closely aligned (or not) you are with your natural circadian rhythm.
I'm apparently more than three hours out of whack, so Garmin has helpfully suggested I go to bed at 8pm this evening and get up at 4am tomorrow to help sort it out.
Rather than buy a watch, I just leave my curtains open, and wake naturally with the light. I prefer this sort of approach, as my curtains don't tell me to go to bed before I've had the chance to do something fun in the evening.
I'm currently nibbling on salted peanuts....for athletic recovery purposes (and fancying a salty snack).
You should do that, it's a proper, industrious approach to life.
I might be wrong, but when Garmin's marketing people are gathering around to discuss flogging the company's latest products, I'm not entirely convinced they have a picture of you on the whiteboard.
Gullible twats like me are far more helpful in that regard.
I have at least one Garmin product. I've hardly ever used it. I might be a more useful gullible twat than you are giving me credit for.
That’s not far off my sleep pattern when I’m on early shift.
23:44. Best time in nearly 9 years.
29:30 here. Always pleased with a sub 30:00 parkrun.
Woke up at 4am, thanks jet lag, Saturday morning group ride, decided to try and ride with a faster group than I normally do, completed it - 36miles at a 20mph average. Total ride was 56 miles for 18.8mph average.
Been holding off trying the faster group for a number of reasons, so really pleased that I broke through that mental barrier. Already looking forward to next week.
Are you Nottingham based? Just curious as to which group this is.
No this is in Rhode Island, if your ever out this way…
I’ll bear it in mind 😏
As we’re on this theme, we went out and rode to the Weaver Hills today on the other side of Ashbourne: 75 miles, 4000’ of climbing, 17.0mph average speed and I got my arse absolutely handed to me on a plate by the other 6 guys I rode with.
Now I’m completely battered and contemplating my life choices.
