Mind you, I saw some commentary on the Balogun red card from the other day, and Mark Clattenburg was the "expert."
I felt nauseous. -
Kevin Kilbane is one of the talking heads for TSN and he was furious about the red card. He has been consistently wrong on pretty much everything through this tournament, I'm not convinced he hasn't been paid to be deliberately contrary.

What position? I don't have a postition. Just observation. I don't know what the mission statement is, I just know (from what I see) that there is a manipulation in favour of monied interests over football interests. Why have a straight game, when you can rig the deck?

FIFA want a successful tournament (in their terms). Which means full stadiums, making lots of money and getting talked about as globally as possible (proper expansion of the game into the states has been an aim for as long as I've been alive).
To that end, there's a soft bias in favour of host nations and big names (viz Ronaldo's suspended suspension, as well as Balogun's). But ultimately, the games aren't fixed, referees will make honest (if often wrong) decisions and eventually class will tell on the pitch. Last week there was lots of talk of the US winning it but look at who Belgium's players play for and who the US players play for, then think they'd have needed to get past Spain and then France...
