Is it just me or do we more often than not seem to concede that kind of goal where the left back / wing back is completely missing. Burnley was another example.

Not sure you can blame the manager. From the fit and available euro squad there wasn't an obvious selection. Certainly no guarantee anything else would have gone any better. We badly miss MGW with and without the ball. Ultimately the recruitment since the summer has been a bit crap (bang per buck wise).

Which is part of the problem. At the very least, Netz in the squad, and Kalimuendo instead of Lucca would seem more well-rounded than this.

Lucca v Kalimuendo is down to the last manager but, given a 22 man squad, we were always going to have to make compromises somewhere.
Who do you take out for Netz bearing in mind only three changes after the group.
