Obviously it counts for nothing but I suspect a lot more neutrals will be rooting for us on Thursday now.

Why? That wasn't Villa playing today so don't see it has much bearing on Thursday other than a positive for them as players have more rest which is generally seen as a good thing.

I mean... he's not unjustified to be complaining about VAR's lack of intervention given how pivotal it was to the game that the guy who should have been sent off and then suspended for the second leg ran the entire game for us. And today wasn't a stunt, it was a business decision - they've got 5th all but locked down now, and the UEFA Cup is a huge opportunity for their first silverware in 30 years, so he would have been dumb to do anything but what he did.

Re the red card: I actually saw Watkins’ retaliatory rugby tackle on Anderson as more dangerous and premeditated.

Once you've established that you're allowed to hack a player then it's only fair it works both ways. We got by far the better of the exchange, there are things far more deserving of our bitterness than that.

I was talking to a guy in the pub a couple of nights ago about football, I'd never met him before. As soon as I told him I was a Forest fan he said "I love Elliot Anderson, he's the closest I've seen to Bryan Robson since the original" and he's so right. It's a great comparison.

But let’s use this to our advantage. They have won 2 in 9 in the PL and have been shit for a while. The few regulars who did play last night were fucking shit and their fans are feeling or more negative than they have been. They are there for the taking. I don’t buy this rested theory either, they already had 3 full days rest following this game anyway which is ample for any pro footballer.
