    What reason is that then?

He's won the Europa League, FA Cup, Conference League all at very average to poor clubs, playing tactically disciplined and defensively robust, but explosive, direct football.

Did you know that? That's why he's costing £13m.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 9:39 p.m.

I already told you I wouldn't have moved on from Pereira. There was absolutely no reason to.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 9:45 p.m.

No. You don't recognise the reasons. That's different.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 9:48 p.m.

They made two brilliant blocks from McAtee efforts, both may have got in. It was a great clearance from Jesus effort, and we had the VAR incident. We did have some efforts.

LOL OK. We're going to get our shit pushed in at Palace in three weeks and Marinakis will fire him for humiliating him against his new favourite bete noir. It really is Ange all over again, same dumb justification (look at all the shiny things he won) with the same dumb lack of planning (squad completely unsuited to the way he wants to play) producing the same dumb results (abject football, albeit Villa gifted Glasner a win by charitably reducing themselves to ten men) and the same dumb outcome (fired after a handful of games and finding someone to firefight the season to make sure we finish 17th).

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:02 p.m.

You are so wrong, it's reassuring.

    We will beat Palace.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:05 p.m.

Our next 4 home games are Arsenal, City , Chelsea, Brighton.

Not an easy run. Were we noticeably better today than against Leeds in game 1? Not sure I see much change.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:07 p.m.

My only question after watching that shit, is what is Dan Ndoye for exactly?

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:08 p.m.

No, Cov were worse than Leeds and we still couldn't score.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:13 p.m.

We were a lot better than we were against Leeds in the cup. So far it's like this performance wise

Leeds (H) - not bad, matched them unlucky to lose

    Leeds cup (H) - shite

Liverpool (A) - very good, the better team

Spurs (H) - decent, unlucky not win

Villa (A) - excellent especially second half

Coventry (H) - struggled to break down low block but still created multiple good chances, dominant on possession, solid defensively, but disappointing because they are very poor

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:14 p.m.

And as for fucking VAR, if every touch in the penalty box like that by defenders was given as a penalty there would be 10+ penalties a game.

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:17 p.m.

I'm slightly surprised that's your only question. but from now on I will be calling him Dan Nd'oh.
Because we need more Simpsons references. Before we fail to score against North Haverbrook. And Ogdenville.
I'm trying to think who Glasner is in The Simpsons. Probably Principal Skinner.
'Is it me who is wrong? No, it's the players'.
Time will tell if Marinakis casts himself as Skinner's Mum.

This is a fair question. He runs and works and he competes, and he seems happy enough a little more central, but for me his final ball or final shot is ineffective just far too often. He just seems to get swamped too easy and doesn't think quickly enough in the time and space he has (compare to e.g. Gibbs-White or even Igor Jesus). I assume he has been ahead of Jesus because Jesus doesn't have the speed and therefore the potential to stretch the play so much, but Jesus touches and decision-making are a lot better, and he's clearly a lot more dangerous in the box. I'd really like to see CHO there but I assume there is some reason why we haven't.

False jeopardy, the contorted wilful misinterpretation of events, the determination to paint everything the colour that you want to see. You've got proper brain boiled here.

You must be about ready to vote brexshit.

False Jeopardy: Let's see, before we react to something that's imaginary.
You are assuming the reaction that someone else has, and how they will react to a mental framework that you have built.

It really isn't. Not the same justification - you are being given a possible interpretation, there are others, that don't rely on you having to get sancho to hold the gear while you have a run up.

Not the same: Look at what he has won at this level of football, against top teams in this league. Ange didn't, and hadn't.

You change the formation and the way you are going to play, as part of a structured plan. Or you stay the same for all time. If you want to continue making progress and not eventually falling down the trap door you have to change. In changing, you have to transition the squad. That is never easy, given the landscape and competition.

We could argue about what change looks like, but it's possible that the guy who has done it before, might have a plan. A not very good looking plan, but a plan.

Transition football, with success against a team we don't regularly have success against. Some good, some bad. I would argue that most modern football is abject football to some degree - the laws and their interpretation are structured to advantage that - because the top clubs can then avoid other things that level the playing field, and leverage their superior financial power into guaranteed success. It takes time.

Abject, vile, sickens me - but totally here to stay. Get used to it.

Even if this goes hideously wrong, and it very well might - everyone else is also trying and there are a lot of variables in play, we will be back here again soon enough. It might be punctuated by a fun bit of firefighting and vibes football...but before too long it will be back to the established top flight team plan, or we will be going down.

I understand the irrational anger...it's ugly what they've done to it...but you should have done more sooner, if you really cared, and now it's too late.

Glasner has 5 wins from 25 Premier League matches since the beginning of 2026. This isn't him bedding in, because his record at Palace with "his" team (granted he lost Guehi) was identical. This is who he is, and the data would seem to suggest that his tactical weakness has been figured out and he doesn't know how to do anything different - today he was out-managed by Frank Lampard with no recognised strikers.

Still, we can be excited for the next 4 home games because as JR says they're all against top teams and we're much better when we don't have the ball..... wibble

  • 19 Sep 2026, 10:24 p.m.

Glasner will finish the season at Forest. I'm almost certain of it. So you may as well get used to him.
