(I love how people still bitch about the charging cable. For a long time there were proprietary cables all over the shop, eventually manufacturers started coalescing around mini/micro USB but when Apple dumped their original connector - which dated back to the early iPods - they went with their own thing. Bastards… except those USB cables were shit and everyone hated them because they were fiddly, irreversible, and broke a lot. The Lightning cable was much better because they chose a designer who had, at some point in her life, had to plug in a cable in something other than daylight. Non-iPhone users had to put up with shitty cables for a generation until everyone could finally agree to move to USB-C, which is good.. and which Apple was at the forefront of developing and implementing across non-mobile products, albeit dragging their heels way too much before making the switch on iPhones etc… so you can see this as Apple/Jobs being shitty if you want.. but there are so many better gripes to choose from (high app-store fees, slow adoption of software standards, stingy on the RAM, irreplaceable parts).. the cable thing was truly just giving their customers something that was subtly, but tangibly, better. ). /fanboyism
