Well well well Taiwo comes through. I have been banging on about him being given a chance because a fully fit Big T is a menace. Perfect for a game like Burnley, Sunderland and errr Chelsea. Yes he has the first touch of a rapist but because it's so bad it actually puts him at an advantage. He has probably earned himself a decent transfer from us which is a shame but he was great yesterday and showing flashes of skill that come with confidence. felt bad for him being interviewed about how big it will be on thursday when he isn't in the Euro squad. i wonder if Victor will let him play in the last few remaining games.
Having said all that, jesus was excellent linking with the big Nigerian. He seems to be a man rejuvenated. Probably because 10 is his best position. If morgan cannot play thursday (and you know he will in a sexy iron mask) then Jesus could drop in .
Because they didn't show any replays of the head clashes it was extremely difficult to see if Abbott had fouled Derry. I am not sure he did. it was a simple case of clashing heads and to give a penalty for that was extremely harsh. Luckily Sels had his penalty mojo on and I knew it was going to be our day. As for the clash between Sanchez and MGW. Did the keeper take him out? Again, not replay so no-one really knows but wasn't it the same as the Abbott incident? Taylor didn't do us any favours at all.
The positives. Cunha is great. Netz was decent. McAtee looks like he has done some weights and was decent. Bakwa has the skillz but is a confidence player. His taking the piss out out of Sideshow Bob was lovely and the dirty Spanish Cunt spent the rest of the game fouling everyone he could and amazingly didn't get any cards.
So Citeh and Chelsea get relegated for money doping now we are almost safe (Arse have to do the business against the Shammers on Sunday) and the premier league becomes a nicer place? Ha Ha ha Ha !!!!
I have decided. Let's win the Europa, qualify for the Champs league and keep Ando and Vitor. Simples! (of course this could change based on Thursday).
This season has the potential to be waaaaay better as last year as I could see that Forest were knackered as the season went along. This one seems to be the bi-polar opposite. Glory might very well await!!!!
He didn't, did he? As well as giving them a dodgy penalty and not giving us one for MGW being cleaned out, he...
Refused to award us the penalty. Overturned by VAR.
Ruled out our third goal. Overturned by VAR.
Ruled that Pedro wasn't offside when he 'scored'. Overturned by VAR.
Please bear in mind though. He's not bent, to suggest that would be tin foil hatted, he's just really shit....yet also one of the countries top referees.
Tbf I think all 3 of those are understandable. The shirt pull was only visible from the side, so blame the lino for not flagging it (and I still think it was a bit soft). I had to explain to some people watching TV replays why our third goal was onside despite them seeing the slo mo, so in real time it's understandable why the lino flagged it and the ref followed the lino's flag. And Pedro looked onside until you saw the frame by frame reconstruction.
What you're actually arguing isn't that the ref was bad, but that VAR was good. The only actual bad decision was their penalty because it never was.
The more tattoos Russ gets, the more sensible and logical he becomes. Either that or he’s taking less coke.
Unless hot Polish bird has taken over his ID.
Actually this highlights how bad they are - specifically being outcome biased, rather than judging process/action.
Tame contact, brushing by a player on the ball, who then goes down - referee inevitably gives a free kick. Player doesn't go down, ref doesn't give free kick. It wasn't a bad challenge, and probably not even a foul - but a bad injury means the referee almost inevitably gives a something. We were probably had a better claim for the challenge that injured MGW than they did for for their penalty...but there's the aversion to give fouls against keepers..and bigger teams.
...and we are not addressing the ultimate conclusion of the interpretation of the rules as they stand, which is that nobody can kick the ball hard near anyone else, with any sort of follow through - because that's out of control, endangering an opponent.
