I rather like it and it goes from strength to strength in the second season. Being a fan of Walton Goggins helps. I can see how the humor can grate.

Yeah I'm enjoying it. It's a bit silly. But I love apocalypse type settings.

I made it through 45 minutes and then threw the telly through the window. Terrible acting, yawnsville scenario. Absolute bag of shit.

I know Taylor Sheridan writes boomer propaganda slop, but damn if it isn't terrifically entertaining boomer propaganda slop. And with Special Ops: Lioness, not only is it terrifically entertaining boomer propaganda slop but sometimes the politics aren't actually bad. Obviously sometimes they are as well, because he's probably one of those confused conservatives who can't figure out the difference between identity politics and morality and sometimes the latter accidentally breaks through, but I'm willing to forgive that for the entertainment value. It absolutely aces the Bechdel Test, there's an outrageously hot Arabic chick, and Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman both kick large amounts of ass.

Suspend your critical faculties and your pinko outrage and enjoy the ride. Highly recommend.

You know how to find my entertainment g spot.

There have been a lot of attempts to make maga-friendly entertainment to counter the woke-cuck-libtard-commie-trans-agenda-Hollywood-don’t-say-the-J-word-though entertainment everyone actually likes. It’s all shite because it’s made by rich cunts who only know how to punch down. Taylor Sheridan might be a maga twat, he might not.. but he seems to have a genuine understanding of, and love for, aspects of American culture that are right-coded but not inherently objectionable. That’s why he can write things that are good even if they’re imbibed with politics we might not like.

Right wingers have been enjoying art made by lefties forever. Apparently some of them even understand it.

Been on something of a kick watching motor racing documentaries. As well as Drive To Survive (as consistently excellent as ever) I've also watched F1 Academy (DTS spin off focusing on an open wheel development series for female drivers using identical cars with liveries of all the major F1 teams - pretty good), both seasons of Full Speed (NASCAR version of DTS and surprisingly entertaining), and probably my favourite so far in American Thunder, a documentary movie about NASCAR running a stock car at Le Mans in 2024. It's a bit Hollywood and chest beaty at times but it's absolutely brilliant fun.

I wish actual motor racing was half as much fun to watch as it is in documentaries, it's such an incredibly cinematic sport.

Rewatching Peaky Blinders before I watch the new movie. Was a number of years ago I saw it. Had forgotten how brilliant it is.
