Delap confirmed.
That’s a shit list.
Confirméd is a helluva player.
We are being linked with Pape Sarr from Spurs
I note that in the Delap announcement they mention he came through the Man City academy, but they don't mention where he came from.
Hadn't realised that. Is it too late to send him back?
We can't send him back, who else are we going to find to score one goal every 1100 Premier League minutes for the bargain price of £45M?
Taiwo's arse?
You jest, but there's a decent chance that Taiwo's talentless arse lumbering around the box will prove to have been a better option than Delap. We're making a very expensive bet that his one season at Chelsea was the anomaly, and not his one season of success at Ipswich.
Who said I jest?
I thought that Big 'T's arse was worth persisting with, because I didn't see us spunking fifty mil on a potentially better option.
What do I know.
Celta Vigo have pulled out of the Rueda transfer apparently. And our £6M offer for Dodo has been rejected as we clearly forgot to add the Premier League surcharge.
I am probably being incredibly naive but I'm quite excited to see Delap, he could be a very good fit. It's a lot of money and his temperament is a bit suspect, but it might just work.
I have high hopes. Last time I was this excited by the signing of a striker was probably DJ.
I think the excitement is more about the fact that we've spent a large amount of money on a striker for the first time in a long while, rather than the striker we've spent it on. He played over 1100 minutes in the Premier League last season for the fifth highest scoring team in the league, and managed one goal.
He might be really good for us, and obviously I hope he is. I wouldn't be betting my own money on it though.
