I think the excitement is more about the fact that we've spent a large amount of money on a striker for the first time in a long while, rather than the striker we've spent it on. He played over 1100 minutes in the Premier League last season for the fifth highest scoring team in the league, and managed one goal.

He might be really good for us, and obviously I hope he is. I wouldn't be betting my own money on it though.

That might be your interpretation...my excitement is around his attributes, which if still intact are potentially highly valuable to us.

Numbers achieved in a basket case scenario is not a concern for me.

If... potentially.... like I said, a very expensive gamble. Obviously all transfers are to some degree or other, and Premier League experience, domesticity, and status of selling club all play a role in inflating the value, but if it was me spending the big man's money I think I'd be more inclined to drop that kind of coin on a proven foreign or two. That said, there's a reason that Syrianos is trusted with the purse and I'm not.

A proven foreign isn't proven in the Premier league though.

He seems a bit dead behind the eyes in his interviews, like Cole Palmer.

Bid in for Munoz. Surely Palace ain’t selling to us?

I'm surprised it took this long. He wants out and they need to cash in. Bit worried about overpaying given his age, but he was key to making Glasner's stupid system work.

If Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs can trade with each other I'm sure Palace can sack up and take our money.

I like him. At his age I'm not sure how long I will continue to like him at a wing back. And at what price.

I like Omari, I think with the right coaching and team he’d be flying. But not sure that’s ever going to be here. The main problem is when we get rid of Glasner and go back to wingers, we won’t actually have any.

Not that I think this happens.

We'll still have Bakwa, Ndoye, and CHO. Because no-one would want to pay full price for them after last season.

Bakwa is gone on loan already. I would keep Omari because he can play in thay exact second number 10 role than we are going for, and that is in fact where he mainly played for Ipswich and England. He also obviously has an already developed understanding with Delap. I also think he has genuine quality and showed good resolve last season from being unwanted by Nuno, to being a key player under Vitor. He could even turn out to be a long term successor to MGW in a more central role and I think he's a lot more effective than N'doye. I am not sure Glasner is into him though and I could see him leaving.
