Transfer fee amortisation is a cost and profits/losses in transfers go through too (quick look suggested through the revenue tether than the cost).

Rumour has it that we are not interested in Hayden Hackney.
Yes, I'm not disputing that that amount of revenue as a cash sum allows us a lot more breathing room under the new model, I was just pushing back on Jim suggesting that we had to sell quickly to meet the PSR deadline. Nothing I've seen suggests we're at any risk of sanctions over financial performance.
It seems odd that it is seen such a big deal anyway.

I think you missed some nuance. I'm suggesting that if we don't sell early, but spend the money we are expecting to get from Anderson in advance, and then for some reason the sale doesn't happen (someone calls our bluff, an injury, etc) then we will be in trouble with PSR (squad cost ratio whatever) when that comes around. There's many advantages to getting our business done asap and I would take a (modest) hit on the Anderson deal to attain that position.
Given Marinakas track record with negotiations, I suspect he’ll be looking too maximize as much revenue as possible for Anderson, besides a good work cup campaign and it probably adds another 5-15 million* on the value.
Numbers can vary as it’s likely only a premier league team who buys him.

I wish these rumours would make their minds up. More from rumour...
Hold onto your seats — Nottingham Forest’s summer window is shaping up to be a blockbuster carnival of chaos, collapse and colossal deals: Dan Ndoye, the £34m winger who has flickered between flop and prodigy, is suddenly the centre of a Serie A vs. Premier tug-of-war with Roma sniffing and Forest vowing not to sell cheap as they bank on a Switzerland-fuelled World Cup renaissance; meanwhile Anthony Elanga’s awkward “see you in America” tweet has sparked swap whispers that could see Ndoye jet off to Newcastle in a wild exchange for a misfiring Magpies signing who’s become one of last summer’s most expensive regrets; in midfield the Reds are plotting to lock down Ibrahim Sangare with a fresh contract to stop Besiktas and even Manchester United from poaching him — especially if Forest cash in on Elliot Anderson’s rumored £100m exit to City — because Vitor Pereira refuses to lose both pillars at once; Morgan Gibbs-White, fresh from a 15-goal season, is now officially “impossible” to keep on insiders’ lips as top clubs circle like sharks eager to offer the next step; Arnaud Kalimuendo looks destined for the scrapheap after a disappointing Premier League spell and Bundesliga loan, while Forest’s scouting eye glints at young gems such as Rangers’ Calum Adamson and Union Berlin’s creative hit Andrej Ilic as bargain, high-upside gambits; they’re also back in the running for Inter’s restless Davide Frattesi and tracking wonder-return candidates like Danilo amid interest from giants across Europe; and as if the market weren’t already on fire, Newcastle are reportedly poised to hijack a cut-price move for Jonathan David from Juventus — this transfer window threatens to be a fever dream of astronomical fees, dramatic U-turns and headline-grabbing moves that could reshape Forest’s future overnight.
Maybe I’m missing something but I’d guess Elanga could be tweeting see you in America because he’s going to be playing for Sweden in the World Cup. In America. But also a swap for Ndoye works for me.

I don't even get what other meanings there could be from that Tweet.
Ah. Just researched. I didn't appreciate he send it to N'Doye. Which is a bit odd given they didn't cross paths at Forest, and from the top of my head nowhere else either? Unless they are friends socially. Perhaps through Aina? Anyway. Yes please. Can we get him for £35m?

I would be delighted, and I don't believe it for a second (until/unless it actually happens).
