City will drag it out for years more with their appeal, most likely. Whole thing's a sham.

They'll appeal the verdict. If that fails there'll be a long time to make a decision on the penalty. Then they'll appeal that. Then it'll go to CAS.

You can safely bet against them getting relegated this season.

Sanction should at least be entertaining if they use Forest and Everton's points deductions as a yardstick.

The BBC is saying the sanction will be announced before the appeal is heard. Talk of expulsion. I'm sure it won't come to that, but how does that affect players' heads?

Apparently Man City have irrefutable evidence of their innocence. Which you’d think they’d have presented before now.

They are welcome to, but it won't change their obstruction and resistance which are far less excusable than "fighting The Man" or whatever.

Down to the Championship, transfer embargo might have an impact if big players leave (on loan, although a maximum of six overseas loans I think) and they can't sign anyone.

I have them kicked down to league 2, if they are lucky, hopefully get Anderson back on loan until they get back.

It's all very impractical though right? Are you moving them down at the end of the season or now? Presuming L1 accept the end of the season, does that mean one of the teams from the league below doesn't get promoted? Do City get to play in Europe next season if they qualify this season? It's a fucking mess.

Easiest solution is disband the club.

Just relegated two teams from the Prem. Everything else remains the same.

So nobody comes up from the Championship via the playoffs

Do City just go through the motions for the rest of the league season, with the games being meaningless to them? Guess so. They'll not be trying very hard I imagine!

Also what happens if they win one of the cups? Do they get to play in Europe next season still from the Championship?

I'm being very careful not to giggle too much at all of this. We're not exactly living in a glass free house, best not to be throwing any stones.

I also feel a bit sorry for Anderson. Shipped to us because Newcastle needed the money, proved himself, got his move and now..........
