I'm so out of touch with gigs. I might have been interested in that but the dates aren't even on my radar.

I'm so out of touch with gigs. I don't even know who the fuck Olivia Rodrigo is.

Pop music with some really fun rock/alt influences. She's very good.

This was awesome live. Her backing musicians are also brilliant.

Cheapest tickets for us were $400. I like her, but not that much.

Yep, they were expensive. We paid £750 for three tickets which was at the upper end of what I was prepared to pay.

But different for us because Little Miss BW is a massive fan.

That seems a lot, I think ours were £129 each including fees which I still thought was expensive.

Just bought tickets to see one of my heroes, Beck. If his new single, plus the recent performance at the Sydney Opera House replete with a full orchestra, is anything to go by, he's probably got a new album coming out that harks back to the gorgeous introspective Sea Change -- which for me is second only to Mellow Gold. This next venue won't be as grand, but there's definitely at least enough room for two turntables and a microphone.

I've got to ask, having never been to any of his gigs before, or even heard his stuff, why you went to the bother of going to Birmingham to see him.

Tash wanted to go, big fan. Had tickets for O2 but that was Thursday night, so sold them and got Birmingham and we stayed up from Thursday.

We just spent an intimate night with Rodrigo y Gabriela (oo-er!) and even with the two of them just sitting down with their acoustic guitars it turned into a quite stunning display of virtuoso playing. There were touring for their 20th anniversary and although Rodrigo looks a little rough around the edges Gabriela is exactly the same with wrists and fingers from heaven wrapped in joyful celebration.

Playing acoustic, rock, metal with flamenco sensibilities at lightning speed without it sounded pap is some feat and they managed it with some aplomb.

My wife commented that Gabriela had amazing hands and marveled how she did it. I marveled for other reasons too what that hands could achieve. Luckily for me Wifey laughed at that comment.

Tremendous tremendous entertainment. Just incredible live artists. Their recordings are a little samey but good God live is some other animal.

    Fantastic.

    Chicago: Mesmerized..

Rosette appear to be touring this summer with a new singer (the original one died a few years ago). I'm not saying I'm going to go, but I'm not saying I won't. They made some mighty catchy songs.

Some of these triggers broom type bands are not much better than seeing a tribute act, and often do the songs worse.

These days the headline act comes on before dinner, the (on demand) pricing is eye watering, and the lager is still warm and in plastic.

    I'm out.

Got invited to the corporate box to go see this guy in concert.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joji_(musician)

It's not as awful as I expected it to be but I will still be declining the invitation. Someone younger than me with worse taste in music than me will probably appreciate it much more.
