Leave them in place, and just do it with cones and temporary metal railings. It already happens anyway, that inside lane after a game turns into a walkway, this would just be making it a bit safer.

Aside ... I get why it was done after the terror attack in London - but putting those huge concrete bollards on bridges all over the country was, IMO, a total over-reaction to one incident.

As I say, it might be some other solution can be found, but there's a lot of this sort of stuff being confidently bandied around by folk who have not the slightest clue what they're talking about.

Not aiming this at you, Jimbo. You might work in transport planning / highways (or similar) - in which case well placed to comment. The (very) brief conversations I've been privy to suggest it's entirely impractical to try to undertake for every home fixture.

It was councillors being difficult for the sake of being difficult. Wanting electric generators instead of diesel. Wittering about two lime trees. And asking questions that had already been asked and that they had the information for.

I think we can do all the building, but we just won't be allowed to use any of the additional capacity until the crowd flow/river crossing solution is in place.

Once it's built there's no chance the council stops them from using the extra seats unless it's demonstrably dangerous.

Maybe, but there will absolutely have to be guarantees given by the club in certain areas or they won't get a safety certificate.

If we're doing well enough to need extra capacity, most of the fans will be plastic popups from Londontown. They will just drive up in their SUVs so won't need to cross the Trent.

I usually drive up from South Leics and park on some nimbys street in West Bridgford. I’ve not looked in any detail but not sure I’ll be able to with proposed new parking zones?
