Strange wet stuff falling from the sky.

We had that on Monday. the sky went jet black and the rain was sideways and they was leakage through the buildings windows in two areas. (tThis was at work). Trees were downed and a lot of the area lost power. Just a normal July day nowadays.

Wifey decided she was going to finish a job in Colorado early and didn't check the weather. She drove in the mountains through a horrendous storm forcing her to abandon the drive. When she eventually got to Denver airport, the place where you return the cars had downed trees on rentals. She then tried to take an early plane back to Chicago and all air traffic was cancelled. She wanted to be back yesterday. She is still at Denver Airport waiting for some of the flights to be uncancelled.

Sounds like an opportunity for plenty of scifi and a masturbatory frenzy. The two need not be connected. Though might be.

It has one terminal with odd sculptures. One of which is outside and is a horse with glowing eyes. Iirc, it’s responsible for at least one death when part of it fell on someone.

But, seriously BBC, how can there be a zero percentage chance of rain on any day until Sunday 16th? That's an insane level of certainty.

The met office at least say < 5% which is more realistic.

This fire is outside of Ringwood in the New Forest and it's spread from a lorry fire on the a31 to the size of 140 football pitches. We're 30 odd miles away on the south coast of the Isle of Wight and the smell of burning brought the local fire brigade out. Worrying*

The Manor just outside of Ringwood played a not insignificant part in my recreational activities during 1996 / 1997.

I don't recall any wildfires but the Drum & Bass scene down there in that era was elite.
