    That’s made things interesting.

I don't mind Martin Tyler but I can not bear Alan Smith. I bet they get the final as well.

Spain almost scored the goal of the tournament. They're cutting France apart.

Might seem counter-intuitive based on the game itself, but I'd rather play Spain if we got to the final.

We're not better than Spain but this game is slightly increasing the chances of the improbable because I think we would have a chance against them and no chance against France in full flight.

100%. France are an amazing team, but their CM is losing the battle against Rhodri and co, which I think Anderson, Bellingham and Rice will cope with better.

Get the fuck in. Take that you sycophantic pundits fawning over individuals rather than a team. I was getting thoroughly sick and tired of that shit in this tournament. The way Spain had a plan and consistently controlled the game, worked their balls off, and no one player stood out from another (exemplified by Oyarzabal's demeanor at this competition, and even that fucker Cucurella played a blinder today) was something to behold. Spain and Japan have been my faves (oh and Cape Verde too). And when Mbappe made that petulant challenge on the keeper near the end it summed everything up for me. A small little earner at odds of 3.25 as well. I wouldn't begrudge them winning the whole thing now. Of course I hope England pose them many more questions, but these lot just seem to suffocate and then come up with the answers.

At least you haven't got Sam Twatterface, who is incapable of either shutting up or keeping his "insights" and opinions to himself (that's what co-commentators are for, not that Lee Dixon offers much of either). Less is more with TV commentary.

I suppose the advantage of that line-up, is that you can make a pretty decent stab at what the necessary half-time subs will be.

Remember radio commentary in the 90s? It described what was on the pitch. You could listen and see what was going on.

"Des Lyttle with the ball at his feet down on the near side in his own half, closed down by McMannaman, but Lyttle just manages to poke the ball down the right flank to Stone. Stone, cuts inside, looks up but rolls the ball back to Haaland. Haaland square infield to Bohinen, with his head up he floats the ball out wide left to Woan over on the far side. Woan has Roy available inside, but strides forward taking on Rob Jones, hits the by-line before whipping in a left footed cross, finds Collymore in space, Ruddock gets a toe in, but the ball barely clears the edge of the area and Pearce! Pearce hits it, left footed from 20 yards, top right corner of the net, David James diving high to his left, just got his fingers to it but not enough, the power was too much, and Forest take the lead at Anfield."

I listened to France vs Spain on BBC Sounds last night. Barely a word to describe what was happening, just opinion.

Agreed. It's not about the football any more.

In other news...I was having opinion about players based on how they walked on to the pitch, and chewed gum. I hope that Henderson doesn't have to come on.

"Bellingham is doing the running of a midfielder, and the scoring of a striker. He's doing two jobs".

I wonder why? Someone out there must be doing no jobs.

Probably not the guy who scored all the other goals though.

Could be one, or more, of the crocks then.

I don't consider standing still and twatting it, if it comes near, a job by the way. Even if the outcomes are good. It's preferable to dropping into midfield and giving the ball away in front of goal though.

Posh Spice furiously applauding the national anthem. Perhaps someone from Brand Beckham had a word after that photo did the rounds of Beckham celebrating England's second goal last v Norway whilst she was sat there looking bored shitless.
