There was a clip on the socialz after the Ghana game of Tuchel going mad at Spence on the touchline after he came on - presumably for not following an instruction. Spence was doing his shoulder shrug and gesticulating back, which almost certainly won't have gone down well.

You're right, though, that Spence would have been made for a front-foot match like this.
