That Canada goal was fun.
That Canada goal was fun.
Promise David is legit good. Unlike Cyle Larin, who looks like he won a competition to be a professional footballer for a day.
Somehow Morocco are 6th in the world in the latest FIFA rankings.
Are they the ones who won AF-CON (I said CON, boy), by losing the final?
They appear to have great brand awareness with FIFA.
I think so although I don't know if they were the ones that did the cheating, or the ones who walked off because of the cheating. That whole thing was all a bit bonkers.
Morocco were hosts and were given a late, dodgy penalty.
Senegal were very upset, walked off for 15 minutes. Came back on, played the rest of the game and won fair and square. A month later afCON decided to award the trophy to Morocco, because.
Not-so-great Scott.
The one player in a Scotland jersey I don't want to see making hilarious howlers.
Terrible decision there. The Scot kicks the back of Vinny leg. If he'd gone down it'd been a red card.
You're ignoring Forest legend/myth Angus Gunn?
Bullshit foul in the area on the corner. Overall mixed bag suggests a lack of competence rather than corruption.
Fuck me this ref has had a brown envelope. No corner wtf!
Uh, yes?
And fair enough. I'm still a bit sad that McKenna just couldn't make the step up to the Prem. I thought he might have been able to.
The Qatar player who made the tackle that broke Kone's leg got a five match ban. Seems pretty harsh, it wasn't that bad of a challenge, just a very unfortunate outcome.
Korea just capitulated so badly, set out from the first minute to get the draw they needed to secure second in the group and play Canada in LA (home to the largest Korean population outside of Korea) and let South Africa have as much ball as they wanted. SA are terrible out of possession but with nothing to lose and all of the ball they got the goal they deserved, and with half an hour left Korea went on the offensive but had no momentum and couldn't find the attacking rhythm they needed to score or even really threaten much. Not a good game objectively, but a fascinating one and as a Canadian I'm not upset to get South Africa instead of Korea.
As a side note, I now understand why Spurs let Son walk when they did. He looks a shadow of the player he was.
