Also, the only game the Knicks lost in the entire playoffs was the one he went to. If he went to a USMNT game and they lost he'd be a sports jinx on a national level.

Feel asleep, woke to see the end of the scotchland game. Seems like they were playing away at one of those north notts mining towns, where the ref is one of their mates, and they can do anything to you without you getting a decision.

Several refs have looked a bit on the corrupt side. The US didn't really need help to win today, but the ref ensured a comfort zone for them.
Got a bit emotional seeing Barry getting a game. Missed his Morocco cameo.

I was a bit conflicted with the US / Aus game as I dislike both countries for different reasons but have a lot of friends from both. In the end it was easy, for a variety of reasons I was very happy to see the US win.

These days I can’t see how that is the correct answer. The USA can get fucked, hard. Sorry to the 200million people who don’t support the fascism, but your neighbours are shitting on the global lawn and you need to sort them out because nobody else can.
Wishing disappointment upon them in every international sporting contest seems about as easy a choice as there can be… the stakes being, as they are, nonexistent.
Yes, even when they are playing Australia.. who should be everyone’s default last choice.

You're not wrong, but:
- I have more American friends than Australians (although the Aussie friends I do have are cool)
- I hated most of what I saw of Australia on my two trips there, my overriding memory is it being by far the most racist country I've ever been to
- The Australian football team are a bunch of talentless diving whiny cunts and USMNT are surprisingly entertaining to watch
- They're called the Socceroos
- They're good at enough sports already
- Their fans are even bigger dickheads than English sports fans
- A woman I'm annoyingly still obsessed with chose to stay with her Australian husband instead of being with me
So on that, basis, fuck Australia. Sorry.
