Weekends are annoying me at the moment! I'm enjoying working on this project and want to crack on. Back in pre-kid days I'd probably be going into the office at the weekends to keep going. It's partly that it's interesting, and partly that I've got about another 3 months allotted to work on it but reckon I can have it done in 2-3 weeks - which will then mean I can work on some other vanity-projects that I would like to do instead.
I saw an advert on the socials somewhere of some bloke selling refurbished laptops with the whole series installed. I don't think I'd get any work done at all if I brought one of those.
...my memory was that the whole thing felt a bit too 'real time' for my liking. Had a go at the first couple for a bit. Then stopped. Installed the suite of free thingies when Russ directed my attention to them last year....now regret it, but am stuck between wanting to winkle them out of my laptop (another one) and use it for something useful, and the fear of losing free things.
Don't think I will ever play them...it's just turned that particular (expensive, convertible) laptop into a virtual ornament.
ATM skimmers. Yes, it's the job, but it's a disproportionate amount of effort for minimal actual loss, as a rule. And if all the banks shared data properly, as well as requiring chip cards, it would be pretty routine to prevent.
Spent a considerable amount of time trying to configure debian under wsl2. It is predictably crap. Trying to overcome the urge to wipe windows from this machine and just be done with it, and install nixos. I do actually need a windows machine to do some things that have to be done from windows (like use the xiaomi unlock tool to unlock the bootloaders of poco phones, so I can put something not crap and actual privacy respecting on it - ie de-google).
The trouble is, I really don't want it. It's really shit.
