I love beer, I love pubs and I'm good at being drunk but in the last 6 months if I have any beer at all I can't sleep and it writes off the next day. I've tried just having one and I've tried having a truckload but the result is the same. This is annoying me as far too much of the little time I spend socialising is beer related but I'm worried I'm going to have to give it up.

No/low stuff isn't really cutting it and it makes me piss to much.

I gave up spirits years ago but the only logical conclusion I can come up with at the moment is to learn to love whiskey.

I think if this was me, I would need to do way more trials before writing it off. Maybe some different types of beer?

I've largely moved away from beer the last few years and I find the drunk produced by wine and liquor to be much more damaging. Beer just makes me sleepy, the harder stuff creates much more damaging hangovers and in recent times I've really started to get bad hangxiety attacks.

I'd quite like to not drink any more. Didn't have a drink all weekend and it was lovely.

I have to live in a world that has russ, loaf, and ingo in it. four letter fucking words the lot of 'em. I need drink in my life. Given the number of recklessly stupid or personally damaging things I do to myself on stronger stuff, this means beer.

Not sure how ingo could possibly square the circle of not being able to drink, but having ingo in his life. This sounds like a diagnosable disability to me.

Wifey gave up alcohol (thank God, her family has a problem with it) and I joined her because sleep is important and it was fucking it up for years and i am over worked and under slept at the best of times.

Having said that, Wifey was out of town on a job and I stayed at home with my diabetic cat and his brothers and sisters. I ordered Thai food, put on some really crappy action films and treated myself to a bottle of bookers 128 proof bourbon. It was glorious.

Sunday was a bit poo though..

    Well still...

    I should also give up.
Probably not going to. I like all of it.
Im too old to be having a "couple" and then insisting on being last man standing because I know a bar that's open till 3.
Yes it's a 3 day hangover and it fucks up my running.

I had no alcohol January and February. Felt good. Started March thinking booze just on weekends. Made me feel crap.

Therefore finishing March by getting through six bottles of wine in 4 days. Which is quite a low rate of consumption when compared to historical trends. Going to try beer again.
