Is this me? I really do, don't worry about it. I could write a few paragraphs about it if you want, but got better things to do today. Suffice to say I barely eat red meat - almost entirely chicken and fish (and I try to minimise chicken). Can't do everything perfectly though. Wish I could, I just don't have quite the willpower.

No, I knew it before, I just largely ignored it until it became convenient additional justification for my semi-enforced lifestyle change.

At least your dairy products come from magical methane-free cows though.

To set your mind at rest the contribution individuals make to global warming through consumption of latte's from pop up barista led coffee shops is miniscule - essentially unmeasurable. If you are looking to save the world, you are looking from the wrong end of the telescope.

    Presactly.

It's alright Mince, you've got another decade left before you have to go the full preachy eco.

The dairy industry contributes 3.7% of all greenhouse gases, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

...and what percentage of that is shades responsible for?

I'm not a preachy eco, if the people who actually have children who will be inheriting the world think it's fine to keep driving fossil fuel powered vehicles, eating beef and going on foreign vacations, I don't see why I should deny myself such pleasures. If they don't give a shit what kind of world their kids will live in I'm not going to waste time worrying about it.

In response to Olive Oil prices

Due to weather in Italy at various times over the past couple of years. I forget the exact issue but the family in Italy have been complaining that the crop was down the last two years.

Meat, chocolate (either high cocoa dark or good quality white, weirdly I don't much like milk chocolate) pretzels and cheap maize based snack filth are my last vices (save for the now very occasional cheese night) as I approach the two year mark since my last cigarette.

I have cut processed meat right down though and often ponder the notion of going vegetarian. I'm not sure why I don't if I'm honest. I'm quite sure I wouldn't actually miss it that much anymore.
