I still to this day don’t feel I experienced the true despair of this evening. I was in my early 20s and had just started to see a girl with the best norks ever and following this horror I went to hers and spent the night rattling her. FWIW I’m willing to bet that more people globally knew that Man City were playing Real Madrid or Barcelona were playing PSG than were aware of Millwall v Leicester or Watford v Ipswich. It may not suit your community club narrative but I pretty confident it’s true.

I say that the revenue of the Premier League is broadly twice that of the Champions League.

...but of course it's not all about money. How do the attendance figures compare?
The UEFA Champions league games have a verified average attendance of 36,898 per game.
The Premier league games have an average attendance of 43,034 per game.
I don't find it anything like as clear a cut case as you seem to that the champions league is the 'biggest'. Although perhaps if you defined what you meant by 'biggest', it might be possible to find a stat that backed you up.
I don't like either of them in their current form. I think it would be better in all sorts of ways if they weren't...but I don't see supporting the exercise in cleaving off the highest income generating clubs from the EPL, to subsidise foreign football, that is by definition less accessible to legacy fans, so that foreign clubs can become 'bigger', helps the football that I want to watch at all.....and the positioning seems to be pure marketing over observable reality at this point, to me.
The champions league was last won by a club whose fans mostly hate it.

This does not make me a champions league fanboy so doesn’t need the hyperbole you’re throwing around.
I cannot be arsed to look it up but my recollection is the CL final has global viewing figures of around 0.5 billion. (The World Cup final is definitely bigger). I do t know if any PL game has global viewing figures that high? I suppose you could aggregate or, better, take the average viewing figures for the CL and the PL to determine number of eyeballs. If it’s higher for the prem, I stand corrected.
You can use any metric you like but the discussion started regarding TV scheduling priorities so that was what framed my comment.

I was observing (unfavourably) that the media had led substantially with news on the champions league games featuring no english (or british) teams, when there was a top of the table clash in the english championship. A league which is around the fourth 'biggest' (by average attendance) in the world (depending on when you look at the data). In England.
Looks a bit like conspiracy to kill to me.
Don’t worry. They’ll soon get back to “it’s the richest game in the world” when it’s the play-off final. (Although, on reflection, it doesn't make sense for Sky to lead with the CL when it’s their rivals who have the rights.)

So following my non league team has been fairly easy. Started watching them at the back end of last season and this year they’ve been excellent. And following a 5-0 win on Saturday are top of the league by two points with 2 games to go.
It’s the highest they’ve ever been and would be going to step 4 in non league if they held on.
However.
Last night they were deducted 6 points for playing a suspended player in a couple of matches earlier in the season. Basically means they won’t finish top so won’t get automatic. Appears an admin error allowed this to happen. Which means the playoffs.
And now the manager has announced on tik tok he’s leaving at the end of the season. And hes bloody good.
So season totally derailed, manager more or less has left having spat his dummy out.
Id quite like to follow a normal club.
