I've always thought of Kitson as a very derby sort of a name. Which is perhaps why I don't particularly engage with this persons standup.

Didn't Daniel Kitson play for Reading FC?

He’s absolutely my language through. Similar age, outlook, interests.. so his career and development as a person clicks with me.. so it may not, in fact, be that he is a generational comedy genius.. and rather that he is just the talented version of me that I secretly wish I was, and I have developed a parasocial attachment as a result.

I first saw him on a young comedy talent show hosted by Barry Cryer. He was the youngest (which Cryer frequently joked about) and by far the best, even at 17/18. He made a joke about how annoying glasses are that a friend and I still quote 30 years later. (Mainly because the delivery was spot on).

Scisset (which he mentions in his act). Bit further north, I believe.

Saw Peter Kay in Manchester tonight. 25 years out of it the game and he's still absolutely excellent.

We had to leave early to get the train, so missed what was reported in that article. What I would say is I saw a huge number of people absolutely paralytic. Way past drunk and into could barely stand up territory. There was one guy who in the first half kept shouting garlic bread, and Kay engaged with him a bit and had a laugh about it, then the gig moved on. I guess he got much worse towards the end of the gig. Sounds like he could have handled it better, but overall I'd still give it 5 stars. When it's released on a streaming service it'll be top of the charts for weeks.

I always get Barry Cryer mixed up with the Sargeant bloke with the massive nose off (of) The Bill from back in the day and it often leaves me momentarily confused as what he's got to do with anything.

    True story.

Ive seen pissed hecklers destroy gigs Some comedians handle that as part of their repertoire other don't. Even with that, there are limits.
I was at a show where Jack Dee turned up to do 15 minutes of new material. Got nothing out because of a pissed cunt.
Note, I was not that pissed cunt.
But largely, they're in the way of a good night out no matter that their mates think they're a reyt gud laff

Dad invited us around for Sunday dinner, along with my sister, nephew and sister's partner. He was super busy in the kitchen when we arrived and insisted that he didn't need any help, so when Little Miss BW was asking about getting on the wi-fi to 'send a few messages to her friends', I told her not to bother grandad for the password and she could instead use my data hotspot.

Half an hour later I got an alert saying she'd burned through 2gb (my cheap-and-cheerful SIM-only tariff isn't much more than that for the month). Lesson learned.

Nipped on to Foxes Talk for a quick look. Embedded ad on the main Chelsea matchday thread was 'Adopt a donkey'.
