England's play after day 1 of this test has been a reversion to the worst type of brainless Bazball. Batting was shocking on day 2 and in the second innings and the spell late on Saturday when they bowled spin to almost no threat (the Hull drop being the only real exception) was just gifting runs to Sri Lanka (I was there, so probably should be grateful that they kept on the field but it wasn't exactly gripping watching).
