We (Senora Mus and I) recently watched the Pan Am 103 series on Netflix- would recommend, particularly on those rainy days when you can’t be outside.

I feel like there’s a trend, maybe started/refined by Vince Gilligan?, to throw in full episodes that just meander with some characters.. rather than moving the plot along at all.. personally I’m a fan.. but it’s an adjustment.
(I see Vince Gilligan’s influence in a lot of shows these days.. in various ways.. I reckon he’s had a monumental impact on ‘prestige TV’ genre.)
Pine Barrons and the episode where Tony is in hospital hallucinating?
Also Widows Bay is episodic almost to the point of being an anthology where every episode is a slightly comedic take on a horror trope (Michael Myers, Carrie, haunted house) but has a through line, so most of the episodes are a diversion from the underlying story in one way or another.
Just watched the first episode of Lioness S2. Taylor Sheridan just does not miss. It gives me the same feeling 24 did when it first started, it's genuinely thrilling television with real bite.
Was looking for something to watch this evening and it turns out my friend has never seen Black Mirror, so we watched San Junipero. Was pleasantly reminded of what a genius Charlie Brooker is.
Friend.
Careful, you'll set Jimbo off again.
Yes, friend. Nothing more.
Football friend?
Late night Netflix friend!
IIRC Russ has no time for that show.
Apparently there's a new season of The Grand Tour on Amazon as of today with a new set of presenters. Seems like ideal TV for cooking dinner to.
Update: two of the presenters are pretty good, but there's a weird posh guy who's clearly a distance onto the spectrum and very irritating. Apparently he's famous on TikTok so maybe the kids like him, but I'm not sure I'm going to. I'll definitely watch the full series though, because travelogue built around awesome cars is a show format I enjoy very much.
Edit: just realised he's the weird train guy that got famous a few years ago. He's kind of a mix of James and Jeremy. Maybe he'll grow on me.
Yeah the train guy is Francis Bourgeois. His rise to fame is absolutely ridiculous.
I get it's kind of endering, I'm glad he's having a nice time, but the amount of fame he's got feels so OTT

On the flip side, perhaps it's better it's someone like that than a nepo-baby from LA or someone who did PPE at Oxford.
Could equally have gone in the What's Annoying Me thread, but despite the obvious FACT that Clarkson is an utter cunt, his farming programme is irritatingly terrific TV.

In some ways that makes it more impactful in that him being a twat and discovering how hard farming is and how at risk our ability to produce is side steps the lefty liberal accusations. Not that farmers are lefty liberals in large part. The climate is fucked and we cant grow crops properly.
