Newcastle and Brighton both up to 60M for Bergvall, which would hopefully see us move for someone else. Apparently that's my line for "too much"

I don't know much about Bergvall but I agree £60m seems an awful lot.

Is this true? I’ve only seen Teamtalk quoted and they are hardly at Ornstein levels of reliability. A lot of the reports read like Spurs trying to talk the price up. I’m sure I read someone who I regarded as at least semi reliable saying that Bergvall wanted to come here, so he could be another of those extended summer pursuits that settle the right way - MGW and Sangare, for starters.

You don't need to know much about Bergvall, to know that you are completely correct.
The modern transfer system works a bit like this for young players.
Metaphor: A building plot. Young players are a building plot. If you built a certain house on it, it would be worth so much. Say the completed price would be £1 million. The plot (opportunity) would cost 1/3, the actual building would cost 1/3, and the profit of the development would be a 1/3.
Now when you buy a young player, you have to pay for the plot and the profit on the finished thing.
Then you have to build it.
Most of the time you will find that you've built on flood plain, your development is under water, and it's now worth fuck all and playing on loan at Stockport.

Football365 carried the Brighton rumour, and yeah that did sound fanciful. Can't remember where the Newcastle one was, and I tend to think that's more believable if they are losing Guimaraes.

Beto has never scored against Forest, and barely against anyone else. You may be thinking of Thierno Barry who is a much quicker, younger and better player, but even bigger and has scored twice against us. Barry has something of the Marlow Harewood/Paolo Wanchope explosive randomness / headless chicken about him, and has great potential but is frustrating. Most Everton fans regard both as poor and not good enough for Premier League.
