It felt very temporary and 'desperate' to me, which is a shame, as I think it could be an effective approach for us. I'd be very happy to see both Wood and Jesus start against Sunderland.

Obvious issue is that it leaves you a man light in midfield, which Xhaka is going to love, or forces Morgan to play deeper than we'd like.

Someone else made this point earlier but it's really noticeable how static we look with Wood up top instead of Jesus (or without Jesus near him). Wood on his own relies on wingers (and full backs) performing, and our two wingers really didn't perform yesterday, particularly first half. I thought Igor did really well yesterday. Not just his goal, but his hold up play and movement really helped us, albeit against a crap side.

I think this might be my favourite match day pass. We've obviously had some amazing games since the admin started doing this - 2 wins at Poo, the 7-0 v Brighton, all of the European games (that we didn't lose), but this hit hard, for lots of reasons.
