KarlMark v Mince in an epic trans-midlands car v train Top Gear style race (with HILARIOUS etc) is the spin off episode no one's been asking for.

The last two minutes were epic last night, as we saw out time in the corner by the Trent End, scarfs whirling, lots of singing. The frustration of the game was almost worth it for that.

Didn't get home to Brum till 1am thanks to M42 and A38 road closures so going to have a tired 11 year old today.. but first European semi final in 40 years, got to be pleased with that.

100% this. It's Forest, we were never going to do it the easy way. Think it's safe to say that if you'd said 5 years ago we'd be in a European semi-final now, the first question wouldn't have been "yeah, but did they play a bit disappointingly in the quarter-final?"

Incidentally, that Chelsea game on the Monday afternoon between the two semi-final legs seems a bit unfair, assuming we're still in a relegation battle and can't just play the kids. Villa play at 7pm on the Sunday night, so will have an extra day to prepare.

Kids and I were strangely flat after game last night.

Think it is a combination of the injuries we got with the key games upcoming, the fact it's not an overseas trip for semi final and fact that it's Villa, who are much better than us especially over two legs.

I'm pretty sure we're all agreed we'd rather have guaranteed Wood than a semi.

Hudson-Odoi left the ground on crutches last night.

Amidst the afterglow of the heady euphoria of last night, I've booked one-way flights to Istanbul for Mrs Charlie and me, to go with our already-booked hotel. Both have cancellation/refund options should we lose to Villa, which seems to be what most people are expecting. We were due to be in Turkey anyway for a holiday, starting on the Sunday after the game, so this could all work out well (Villa permitting).

What flights are you booking that have a cancellation option?

That's the downer from last night - CHO is a huge loss. Bakwa should have had a lot more of an impact when he came on last night - wide open spaces and tired legs around him to exploit. He went on a great run as soon as he came on, and I thought that this could be his night. And then on his next run, he visibly ran out of ideas mid-run, and you could almost see the confidence draining from him.

Good to hear the City Ground pumping again last night - the atmosphere has been a bit 6/10 for a lot of games this season, but it was mint last night, particularly the bit at the end that loaf mentioned.

Word for Bakwa who continues to look totally confused about what positions he's supposed to take up, where he should run with the ball, what he should do when he loses the ball and generally bemused as to how he got into the pitch in the first place.

I found myself almost feeling sorry for him last night with the run where he burst towards the edge of the box, someone (Jesus?) made a clever run to the left to drag away a defender but Bakwa clearly lacked the confidence to drive into the space and get a shot away.

There was a visible moment where his brain caught up with his legs and shit the bed.

Hopefully, it would be good if he did something last night.

Jesus has regressed as the season has gone on, but hes obviously knackered. Did his season end late in Brazil before he joined us? And then the months getting battered as the lone stinker for Dychosorous has taken its toll.

Exactly, I don’t know how you couldn’t enjoy that last night. Yes it was a bit chaotic, woeful finishing and very Forest at times but it was also enjoyable and entertaining. Great atmosphere too. We might get thrashed by Villa and relegated but you might as well enjoy these evenings as I still often stand there, as I did last night, and think of those bleak midweek Championship and League One evenings in a half full CG.
