It's after midnight and therefore Tuesday...and I have questions.

Will we go 3 at the back? Almost certainly.
Will Clanger and both Scrappy Doos play? Definitely.
Will we be watching us defend through our fingers / from behind the settee? No question.
Will Porto continue being generous having gifted us 2 penalties and an own goal? Probably not.
Will we have worked out how to have shots on target that don't involve Williams? I fucking hope so seeing as he probably won't start tomorrow.
Will we solve the problem of the gaping hole between the 9 / 10 and the DMs who don't want to run with the ball? Miracles do happen.
Will we continue to rely on the double marked wingers who always cut inside onto their stronger foot rather than attempt to beat their man / stretch the defence? I expect so.

0-0. AET. Forest win on penalties. After which there are so many references to 'this is exactly what Forest didn't need ahead of Sunday, but at least they'll be taking the momentum from tonight with them...

I can 100% guarantee that Williams won't start tomorrow. Wild guess, but Dave's been getting into the spirit by indulging in Porto's finest export.

BrettWilliams, JRs_Cigarette and Dave_Rave like this.

Indeed. Had a Majestic Wine delivery earlier. Wasn't expecting it until Tuesday. Mrs Rave and I might have had a taster. And yes, Portugal was involved, albeit LB7 (Lisbon) rather than Porta6.
Happily Majestic have cut the price of LB7. But Monday night drinking is obviously wrong, kids. Even if you're retired. At least my tolerance has nosedived in the last few years, meaning whilst I'd quite like to drink more it does at least save money, keep my weight down and stop me feeling quite so shit the next day.

    Or any day this week.

So you think we will rest Williams against Porto so that we can not start him on Sunday? Or are you one of those maniacs who think the week starts on a Sunday?

Hmm. You make a good point.
Replace 'any day this week' with 'week day'.
At least I don't think the game is tomorrow.

Not two nights running. Maybe tomorrow to accompany Bayern stuffing Real Madrid out of sight.
    Hopefully.

Apparently Villa have Rogers, McGinn, Cash, Digne and Lindelof on yellow cards ahead of Thursday. They'd miss the semi-final if booked against Bologna.

Forest's list is Morato, Murillo, Gibbs-White, Yates and Jesus for comparison.

Do we expect Jair Cunha back tomorrow?

Assume Ortega is the Euro goalkeeper.

Prospect of extra time and penalties makes team selection interesting. Don't think we'd want (m)any of Sunday's team playing 120 minutes but the likes of Morgan, CHO, Williams (and Milenkovic) will be high on the penalty list, so the temptation will be to leave them on the bench for an hour.

Hasn't been on a bench yet, so would be a bit surprised to see him straight back into the 11.

I think the general consensus was that Cunha is almost ready and we left him out of the team the last two games to be sure. I would play him if he fit enough.

Morato shudder will probably fuck it up for us anyway but one can dream of fielding our best available team for this one and the best available for Bumley.

    Chicago: Strangely optimistic.

I thought Morato did okay in the last porto game. There's a world of difference between 'ship athletes running at him, than your average second rate european no mark player. Given that he has achieved second rate european no mark level himself.

There's a part of me that is curious to see if it's possible to win a competitive game with McAteer in the midfield. Toss in Abbot, Cunha, Bakwa, Lucca, and Hutchinson, and the other four will need to be superman.

Word is that Anderson missed training today for personal reasons. Apparently a 'doubt' for tomorrow, according to those making a living out of clicks.

Morato came through at Benfica. No idea if that makes any difference to his ability or motivation to play against Porto.
