I know I shouldn't try but I just can't understand the point of that quirk or what scenario it is supposed to deal with and make better.

If even the officials agree it's handball then without that Maguire doesn't control it doesn't take the shot and the deflection doesn't happen.

Surely all those phases after the handball never happened.

Obviously the problem here is that you're trying to apply logic.

Handball? Maybe, maybe not. Offside? Maybe, maybe not. Contact allowed? Maybe, maybe not. Financial rules? Maybe, maybe not.

    Actually football? Maybe, maybe not.

It’s the difference between accidental and intentional handball. If it’s intentional, the goal is disallowed, if it’s accidental, the person handling can’t score but if the move continues and someone else does, that’s fine. Extending that to a deflected own goal seems a stretch to me but it’s consistent with the rules.

They are the seventh ranked club in the East Midlands now.

    Forest (PL)

    Lincoln (17th Champ)
    Derby (21st Champ)

    Mansfield (5th L1)
    Notts (7th L1)
    Burton (11th L1)
    Leicester (21st L1)

    It's glorious.

It's a triumph of Spanish dancing. There was some great throwing shapes on the dancefloor. In the boxy bits. We used to call it diving. Still, football is no doubt better for rewarding the collapse under the hint of contact, rather than being strong. Wherever it is these days.

Away from transfer shenanigans - or not - hopefully Derby and Lestah continue their winless run in the league tonight.

    Oh.
    Oh,

Even Nuno got his 1st league win of the season.

Went to Sheffield United v Bolton tonight. Free ticket from a mate. Got there 2 minutes late, so missed the Bolton opener, then left on 90+2 and missed the United winner. But didn't really care much.

The beer service is way worse than the CG if anyone was curious. But the toilets are nicer.

United were very fortunate, Bolton should have won, but had very poor game management (twice leading then twice conceding minutes afterwards).

Peck is quite good in the CM, and this guy on loan from Brentford looked a class above.

Across the past six seasons, STATSports - a sports technology company Kane has invested in - found his distance covered, high-speed running and accelerations were up 8%, 22% and 42% respectively.
