It was a clear foul but at the same time Declan Rice was rugby tackling someone to the ground and I was half expecting a VAR call of ‘no goal however penalty to West Ham’.
I would argue that the difference is that the foul on the keeper prevented him from catching the ball, while Rice holding the WH player didn't prevent any kind of play on the ball.
Yep - and it should have been. Trossard(?) was also clearly holding Todiba and that started way before the foul on Raya.
A conspiracy theorist might suggest it is better for the EPL for Arsenal to win the league, to avoid more spotlight on Citeh's outstanding charges.
(I think it's more human error in the face of such huge pressure, knowing the impact of the decision and the spotlight they would be under afterwards/ Plus all refs are sh!te).
Definite foul. But given the number of goals Arsenal have scored this season from dubious practices at corners, it’s a bit rich that they’re going to win the league because one went the way of their keeper.
