Villa want less than that for Martinez. I know wages will affect a fee, but wtf are Wrexham doing spending that on a keeper?

Edit: I'm not sure who cost £10m, but it wasn't the Wrexham keeper, looks like he was a free agent.

Anthony Patterson. Wrexham bought him from Sunderland for a lot of money.

Not sure where you're getting that from. Widely reported at 10m (even during the comms last night), albeit that figure probably includes all add ones being met.

Jamal Musiala has fainted on the pitch for the second time in 6 days. That seems like not a good thing.

Looked at his Wiki, saw he has signed a four year deal in 2022, saw he had been out on loan at Notts and somewhere and not played much in the last year or two, concluded he was shit and had run down his contract. Seems I was wrong.

Derby's poor start to the season (in terms of the failed takeover, associated lack of signings and opening-day loss) have been compounded by the news that Matt Clarke and new-ish recruit Derry Murkin are out for three and four months respectively.

Sam Szmodics, who joined on loan again from Ipswich and scored their goal on Saturday, is also injured and unlikely to play the next match.

Real shame, I think we can all agree.

It's ok, they can still cling onto their "at least we're not owned by a gangster" narrative which they've been desperately using for the last four years in order to convince themselves that they're in a better place than us really.

Especially as they actively sought and spectacularly failed at being owned by an actual (and really piss poor) criminal who's not even got being a proper badass gangster going for him.

I'm really into an absolute thrashing by Arsenal tonight. Preferably with Taiwo scoring a consolation.

It’ll be funny watching that video in 10 months time, if (as is highly likely) they are chewed up, spat out and feeling bitter about the whole premier league experience. “Bit of pace … power … graft” - wow, no one else in the premier league has those…

I can well imagine our comms team doing something similar if we'd been promoted last season. Let them have their fun, I'd say. It's pretty harmless. Their fans have have had a far worse journey back than we did.

In all likelihood, Coventry are going to get dispatched to the Championship having had their arses handed to them multiple times over the next nine months. They could do a Sunderland of course, or this anticipatory bit now might just be the best it gets for them.

Live and let live, I say.
