There are about 12 bands I would watch. The only one that I really want to see is Neil Young. Who I have never seen.

I listened to the first track. Sounded like a band who wanted to rock, but didn't want to go too deep into the rock to avoid alienating their audience.

Reminded me of Bush.

Little Miss BW loves Olivia Rodrigo and we got tickets to see her last summer. I had no reference point for that kind of thing but was blown away by the production. They might not be everyone's cup of tea, but artists like her and Taylor Swift are at the very top of their game in that regard.

Olivia Rodrigo's music is OK, too. Has a few decent songs and her backing band are really good - guitarist, bass player and awesome drummer (all women, too).

They do move quite nicely into the rock but they do the full range of quiet and loud.

I can assure you it is very much the latter.

Guessing @pantzcat might be my best bet, but if anyone else has any ideas please let me know. A friend of mine is a musician who's heading to London for a few days in May, he was thinking about taking his guitar if he can find somewhere to play. Any suggestions or recommendations for good open mics? Camden area a bonus but not essential.

Though it looks very big and commercial now. It was really small and literally in people's houses at the start when I went.

I'll suggest it but it does look a bit organized. I don't think he's looking to get a paid gig, just turn up somewhere and play his music for people.

Have a look at the Troy Bar in Hoxton, they're quite famous for their open mic nights (I've not been).
