There wasn't a thread. So I made one. Not a huge amount to say other than I have been enjoying Bug Club today.

I am listening to Black Flag this morning.
Just went to use a Spotify presale code to buy tickets for an upcoming tour:
How about go fuck yourself.
Wow, something I like even less than giving Joe Rogan $200m.
It looks like I could have just accepted in order to get the code, then removed the permissions straight away. Instead I elected to not get the code and thus probably not buy the tickets.
New Blackbraid for those who like black metal. If you don't, Blackbraid is possibly the most accessible exponent of the art working today and I recommend giving this a go, it's stunning.

New Hives for those with more rock and roll tastes.
Daughter went to see Post Malone last night.
Another of the signs of old age when I could not name a single song by the chap who is selling out 3 nights at the O2.
Today I have listened to Highway 61 Revisited and am now listening to Slipknot's eponymous first album. One might think that these make no sense together and sonically there's a lot of difference, but there's also a surprisingly common theme to much of both.
Coming back after 10+ years with an absolute banger. Shocked it’s taken sometime this long to do a music video homage to Evil Dead, to boot.
Imagine, in 2023, getting headlines out of pretending to be shocked by the plot of The Wall: metro.co.uk/2023/05/25/roger-waters-investigated-by-german-police-after-wearing-nazi-outfit-18848034/
When the film has been out for 40 years.
This seems pretty bad also?
In a musically related mundane moment, this morning I bought Nige Tassell's new book "Whatever Happened to the C86 Kids".
I used to have a copy of the C86 tape. Albeit much, much later than 1986.
So anyway, marvellous.
Just won a contract with a pretty damn good record label who have promised to let me look round their file room where they keep copies of 40 years of releases.
This was playing in the supermarket today. I suppose I might have heard it before and it not registered, but it registered today. It might be the worst song I have ever heard. I thought it must a parody of bad 80’s soft rock ballads.. or, at least, just a really terrible 80’s soft rock ballad that someone had put on for a laugh.. but it is somehow neither of those things. Don’t listen to it. It’s not bad in a good way.
Riot fest is looking tasty this year
So it order to get ready for three days of fun and sun (I hate the sun), I have oddly been listening to Ultravox, Soft Cell, the new Kesha Album and the Exploited.
Only one of those artists is going to be at the festival.
Chicago: Zigging and Zagging.
Fair amount of those bands I’d love to see (again). Although festivals can be a chore, imho.
Yeah, that's a terrific lineup. Apart from the obvious ones, I notice Empire State Bastard buried right down at the bottom - that's the new band with the guy from Biffy Clyro and Dave Lombardo from Slayer. I would definitely check them out.
