Saw the Lovely Eggs in Nottingham last night . Today, I'm nursing the worst hangover I've had for quite some time.

I just realised that today was 6/6/24 (otherwise known as 6/6/6). Time to Break out some Iron Maiden!!!!!!!!!
Chicago: Part time satanist.
The new Eminem album dropped today and it's excellent, if you like Eminem. Very much in the original Shady spirit.
I'm a fan. As you might imagine. Will check it out later.
The Title kind of gives it away
Not that I mind...
Chicago: Always up for hijinks.
You commenting on another thread just now has reminded me to listen to this. Loving it.
Spent all afternoon listening to Renaissance: The Classics. It's a bloody good thing I don't know any ecstasy dealers these days. Stone cold banger after stone cold banger.
The band Renaissance? I saw them live in 1971.
TIL there was a band called Renaissance.
The Classics was a series of CDs issued by legendary nightclub promoter Renaissance, covering everything from mid 80s Chicago and NYC disco-influenced tunes that created house music, through Balearic classics that took the scene to completely new heights, to British garage stormers that made the UK the global epicentre of the dance music scene.
You had to be there, man.
Have booked to go on this with a couple of friends.
I was planning on doing a festival next year but this wasn't what I was expecting.
Currently going through a phase of enjoying dance music, and obviously knowing that one of the social media sites offered me a podcast called The Record Drop. It promised me an exploration and retrospective of 90s electronic dance music which sounded promising, so I downloaded the first episode expecting a nerdy man to talk to other nerdy men about obscure clubs and labels mixed up with the odd snippet of a tune. Imagine my surprise and delight then when the first episode turned out to be an absolutely banging hour of Hook Recordings trance classics mixed seamlessly without a single word spoken past the 30 second intro.
Highly recommended if the 90s house / techno / dance scene was your thing.
But on the other hand, here's some relentless D-Beat but in Finnish.
Ydinaseeton Pohjola
There's maybe 1 person in this hallowed place who will like this.
Decided to try Wendy James' solo stuff as a soundtrack to my somewhat tedious work project this afternoon, went for her 2020 album I Came Here To Blow Minds. Surprised how good it is, she's still got that sultry edge to her voice but thematically and sonically her music is much more grown up. A bit soul, a bit Americana, a bit rock and roll, sounds like it could have been made in any era from the 60s to current day. I do recommend checking it out.
Yet to be officially confirmed, but there are increasingly believable rumblings that Oasis are going to do a reunion tour next year.
I don't care how much you may want to dislike them on a point of principle, they are one of the defining rock and roll bands of a generation and they were a force of nature live. So I'm really excited for this.
Despite not being a huge fan, I can't help think that an Oasis gig would be a whole lot of fun. Probably sold out as fast as Taylor Swift though. Mostly because nothing has filled the void.
I foresee a trip to London in 2025.
