Went to see the Soup Dragons in Camden on Tuesday night. They reformed for a short tour due to one of my best mates starting up a record label a couple of years back releasing vinyls of old BBC sessions (John Peel, Janice Long etc).

Interesting to see Hefner on there. One of my friends used to do art stuff for them and became something of a penpal with Peel as he sent in vaguely humorous letters to get him to play them.

I'm waiting for a search to run...and I'm listening to my mix tape playlist on shuffle, while I do. Roxy music's 'Slave to Love' has just given way to 'Kick out the jams'. I quite enjoyed 'Groove is in the heart' giving way to 'Stop killing me', and 'Everybody wants to rule the world' followed by 'Sick of it', earlier..Funny what these things throw up.
Some good songs, unfortunately ruined by Groove Is In The Heart. One of my most hated songs ever, it's one of the list that is guaranteed to have me reaching for the dial.
That's why I thought that 'Stop killing me' was so apposite.
Listened to ‘The Sun Always Shines on TV’ about 8 times in a row today. I really hate that whole ‘such a great pop song’ line but, if ‘pop’ must be a genre then, fuck me, they hit that one so far out of the park that if it ever lands it’ll destroy a planet.
