You're a fucking stud dude!
Anyway, I don't know if this is adopted anywhere else but even thought our holiday was Blighted by El Nino, landslides, floods, Earthquakes and yes even a hurricane (thank god climate change isn't a thing...), we did encounter a cultural thing i really liked that should be adopted around the world. At a very posh restaurant (yes there are some in South America you pedant cunts..), we were offered a bag (like at comedy shows) where we put our cell phones in. This was in order to promote social interaction and full attention with the tasting course and the waiter/sommelier. Considering my phone only seems to notify me about work and fuck all else I went with it. You know what? Didn't miss it once. I was a great evening with some tasty conversation and cool interactions. I almost forgot I even had a phone when they reminded me to take it with me when they took it out of it's protective covering. It may have also had something to do with the fact that we were told, "If you are not in Chile to drink, why are you here". The reason being that they wanted us to try Chilean wine with every serving. Not just any wine but four fucking glasses of the stuff each course. So it was safe to say that we don't drink as much nowadays we were absolutely wankered. So I probably would have forgotten my phone anyway...

Sounds like the phrase "Me no speako Dago" got you quite a long way.
Well the longer I stayed the worse my spanish got because the fuckers could speak amazing English. I started to get embarrassed trying to hold a conversation in their native tongue and all my words got jumbled up. My main misdemeanors included starting off introducing my wife as my Esposa (correct) to by the end of the week to Abuela (grandmother), incorrect.
I totally gave up when I was ordering breakfast and asking for Bacon (Tosin) and ended up by the end of the week asking for calcetenes (which are socks..)
Yep, I ordered socks for Breakfast. What made it worse was that everyone in perfect English just told me how hard it was to learn Spanish. I felt like a right twat.
Wifey who couldn't speak one word when we got to Latin America ended up picking up the lingo during the week as she was negotiating buying Bolivian rugs/carpets off everyone all the time. I was totally lost.,
I give up.

Sounds like a dodgy euphemism
Don't have anything booked at the moment and I'm getting itchy feet. I've always wanted to go to Japan, and there are some very good deals to Tokyo for February. Was mulling it over and came back this evening to find the lock screen on my work laptop showing a picture of Mount Fuji. A bit of a coincidence as there is zero connection between my work laptop and my phone so it can't know I was searching flights to Japan (never even logged on to my Gmail account on there).
Anyway, Sapporo is a place in Japan I've always been fascinated with and it seems that skiing there is both brilliant and cheap. They average around 5m of snow each winter, and that's in the city; far greater totals I'm the mountains not too far away. With hotels coming in at £69 per night at the end of February I'm almost sold...
Japan is fucking fantastic. We have been there twice. Probably got something to do with wifey's obsession's with Geisha's.
The food is amazing. The country is mental and it really is an absolutely fascinating place to visit. One of our favourite places.
