At a conference in Miami tomorrow through Wednesday, so I came down a couple of days early to hang with my buddy in the Keys. This place is glorious, spent the day out on a charter boat fishing and caught a fucking ton and now we're taking some of the catch to a local restaurant where they will cook it for us. I could get used to this life.

While crossing the road in Porto, I bumped into a Canadian chap I know who lives in Arnhem but I met in Manchester.
    We had drinks.

I expect he must know Russ as well, because Canada. And probably PvH.

He also likes hockey and used to play for a top league team.

    In the Netherlands.

    Also short

Of course he must know Russ or be his twin.

The Vancouver something's is his team.

Fyi this is the travel thread. You know who you are.

Anyway, we took our mid-range electric car to Snowdonia for our holidays. There are a few fast chargers around, but on the final day 6 out of 7 were out of order... I was the smug git plugged into the working one at 7am.

It's truly a measure of the remarkable sense of freedom that you can only get from a road trip in an electric car. Getting up at 7am to beat the rush to get your car plugged into the only power point in buttfucknowhere land.

At Uig and waiting to board the ferry to Harris. It's going to be a wet and rough crossing.

Not long had our usual week in Polzeath. Lovely weather but downside is there is very little surf.

Booked this morning to go to Boston. Five nights at October half-term - looking forward to it.

Any recommendations for stuff to do gratefully received.

Yes good tip we did that.

The "Cheers" bar if you've ever watched it is worth popping in for a beer.

ChatGPT is great at this sort of planning.

Thanks both. Will definitely take a train ride up to Salem at that time of year, which sounds like it will be a bit mad and crazy-busy.
