We (as in folks from work not my wife) stayed on Ocean Drive just near the Versace mansion for the weekend before last year, then moved to Fort Lauderdale hotel for the actual event.
Probably do similar this time.
It was cold for Miami, the lizard things were dropping out the trees and locals had coats on. It wasn't really cold at all.

Vizcaya (where they filmed a bit of Iron Man 3) is worth a visit in Miami.
We are about 20 minutes from Disney and the one saving grace I have for them the have frequent run ins with DeSantis*. Enemy of my enemy and all that.
*Who’s currently having all the school media specialists put a sticker on the new textbooks pointing out that it’s now the Gulf of America.
