Just spoken to our fitter and he said a Nest would require a low-voltage cable being put it and I don't want the wall hacked up to accommodate. Looking now at the Hive, which he recommends. Will take a look at the ecobee, too.

I have a Nest, it's great and looks good on the wall, app is easy to use. I'm pretty sure they all do the same thing so not a lot to differentiate.
We have Nest too.
I think I'd read about needing a cable fitted but when the guy came to do it nothing was needed.
Maybe your guy just doesn't do Nests?
Not sure it's saved us money but made it easy to turn heating on/off and set timings etc.
He said earlier variants didn't require the low-voltage cable and he can't understand why the new ones do. He's stopped installing Nests because he says the extra labour required makes it too expensive for customers compared with other makes.
He's also said that he's happy to install the Hive at no extra cost, which is very decent of him. He finished the job on Wednesday and is coming back on Monday to drain down the radiators, so says he'll install the Hive at the same time.
Back from a funeral. What a cracking send off. He was a firefighter as well as being a painter and the guard of honour was much more impressive and respectful with a fire engine and fire axes than it would have been with a white van and roller poles.
Tremendously sad day, his family and friends did him proud though.
Just back from seeing Green Day in Manchester. Was impressed by Nothing But Thieves who were supporting too. Had to end the evening with a 3K jog to make the train which was not ideal.
Just had a power cut that also took out all phone signal as well. For 30 minutes, the world might have ended and I'd not have known.
Decided to temporarily assuage my current mid life crisis by getting another large tattoo. Have booked the first sitting for next month.
Daughter trained at Seagrave last night. Didn't see Coops. I reprimanded her for not logging on the pitch.
Things that do not go well together.
Beginning to regret my skinflint ways in deciding to not hire professional removers and instead electing to do it all ourselves.
Although to be fair Mrs. Seán has done the lion's share of the packing and boxing up. We've got until Friday.
I shall be mostly in charge of box humping, lorry driving, swearing and trying to avoid people.
Well, nobody suggested that in the advice thread did they? Is it of a sailor?
Every time I move I vow the next time I will pay the extra money and have someone do it all for me.
Last time we moved we got the movers in. Takes a lot of stress out of the day.
Forgot to clean my football boots of drainage ditch mud from last week. Had to do it now, and they might not be dry for tonight. Couldn't decide what detergent to use to clean the boot brush after, amongst the various options to hand. In the end went for shampoo (anti-dandruff).
I don't normally like to have plans first thing in the morning. But tomorrow after coffee I intend to get straight out and vote. So no emergency gets in the way of me kicking the tories in the cunt.
Gave Ben Bradley a boot in his balls just now.
