Lawrence of Arabia: Not quick paced - some drawn out bits, some very good set pieces...but not really at a modern tempo, arguably over-cinematic. Very long and in parts soporific. When they are slipping out of consciousness on the camels, you might too. Peter's Tooling is excellent in this one (my next favourite of his would be in Jeffery Barnard is unwell).
One of my all-time favourite films, and a rare one I get pleasure from re-watching.

For a long time I had the directors cut on VHS. Because of the length of it, that required recording it on LP. So the quality was excruciatingly bad. Still good enough to watch and re-watch.
And re-record, not fade away…
My boy is considering studying film but cant be arsed watching Lawrence of Arabia because its too long. Im suggesting he take a different course.
Also can't be bothered watching Jason and the Argonauts. Considering disowning him.
I have a significant amount of students that are unable to sit through any film. It’s sub-optimal.
My favorite O’Toole is My Favorite Year. I do want to watch The Ruling Class at some point, based on the synopsis alone:
“The eccentric 14th Earl of Gurney thinks he's Jesus Christ.”
I thought the Mandalorian and Grogu was a really good (if very expensive) two-parter from the TV show. In that, if you like the show, you’ll probably enjoy it a great deal more than someone with no background on it.
