Watched Taken last night for the first time in years. A quintessential action movie - 90 minutes of righteous violence and quotable dialogue. Then I watched the sequel - it's not as good but it was still pretty fun.

All three that I've seen are watchable, although decreasingly good.

At the cinema now, awaiting the start of the Mario Galaxy thing. Parenting, eh?

My wife dragged me to the pub and back, where I happened upon some bottles of rather tasty ale.

Not quite sure how something so relentlessly fast and inventive could be so boring.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it. Am I right in remembering the daughter goes to Europe to follow U2 on tour (and they don’t even appear) and Liam Neeson reacts with utter horror when he discovers she’s gone to Paris (like it’s Kabul)? (Ok, he’s proved correct but still.)

Close. He knows she's going to Paris but is horrified she's actually planning to follow U2. There's an argument that being kidnapped into sex slavery is a lucky escape from having to repeatedly watch U2.

Resident_Alien, Simon and Andyp like this.

And she's abducted in Paris anyway, so that plays no further part.

Ballerina was terrific. Fight choreography as exceptionally good as all the JW movies bar the first sequel, and Ana de Arnas gives probably the best action chick performance since Gina Carano in Haywire. Three particularly inventive and fun battles,

    grenades, ice skates, and flamethrowers

with the last being particularly cinematic.

Went to see the Hail Mary Project, I thought it was Ok, but there was a trailer for the He-Man film. I'm counting down the days.

Managed to persuade Little Miss BW to come to the cinema to watch The Magic Faraway Tree. A family's just walked in during the trailers with a baby... who's crying.

    I mean, who does that?
