Very sad news for anyone who knew Jules, but I'm afraid she passed away yesterday. She had been diagnosed with cancer and they were looking at treatment options, but unfortunately she went suddenly yesterday. I'll miss her encyclopedic football knowledge, including helping me plan this Istanbul trip and knowing the best pub to meet in for any match anywhere in the world. Rest in Peace Jules.

Jules, and the Brian, are largely responsible for my football nickname. Jules was largely responsible for my ability to access tickets in recent years, and accounted for the largest proportion of my conversations about obscure unpronounceable foreign football teams.

Deeply sad that goldfish is now lying inert having come from the Forest.

Jules was one of those rare football fans who was knowledgeable about football in the widest sense, deeply immersed in it personally and professionally, and at the same time completely banjaxed by the weird quirk of fate that sticks us to largely basket case clubs for our entire natural lifespan. Which was definitely too short here.

Whenever she posted tickets to me they were always wrapped up in a copy of The Brian. The last one was a couple of weeks ago from February 1994. Articles about Stan, Lars and famous Brians. She was in a documentary about fanzines a couple of years ago that was shown in Nottingham; she hated any form of limelight or attention and told me it was one of the worst things she'd had to do. Never one for photos or even phone calls; she admitted herself she was on the spectrum and didn't like speaking on the phone, so all communication was via WhatsApp. Had some great times and at least she got to see Forest in Europe a few times.

I've never met anyone with such a deep knowledge of football and I used to enjoy teasing her with random questions about matches and players; most of the time she'd know the answer and it was almost a proud moment when I asked something she didn't know.

    Well that is just shit.

I have met Jules over the years a few times and always found her lovely and funny. Sometimes wondering why she hung out with Tricky on occasion. Markus I understand.

No idea that she was sick (I mean why would I) but that is just horrible that she has been taken before what we would consider our time.

My condolences to everyone who knew her well.

That's very sad news, I saw Jules on a number of occasions and she was lovely - I think she may have also sorted me out for the odd ticket back in the day. She also partook in the old man's match day buffet.

That is shit, many memories of when we used to get together when we both lived in London, including a couple of trips to watch Barnet, before she moved back up to Notts.

It’s because of her and Graham that I stumbled across talkback, we were navigating the backstreets of Blackburn looking for a beer before getting a train back to London at the time.

Will raise a glass in her and Grahams honour tonight.

She sent me her ticket for Leeds away last week as she was in hospital & couldn't go. The following morning after the game she sent a message that just said "sorry about that"

Just yesterday I was stuck behind an older red Corsa which made me think about Graham and how he called them dodgems (something I still do today). This made me think about goldfish and how she kept us all updated about Graham’s illness and his passing. And how nice she was.

I thought it was a while since she’d posted and now we know why.

Awful news. Condolences to her family and friends.

Really sorry to hear that and condolences to all her knew her. I have a very vague recollection that @Jeff_Albertson introduced us in a pre-match pub at Burnley about 15 years ago.

The last time I can remember seeing her was at the last Talkback tournament.
In fact you can hear her alongside cameraman Dubya here:

It was always lovely to spend time around her on the occasions I did.. and Brian was a big part of my formative years of being a Forest fan.

Similar. Met her and Graham (among other Talkback luminaries) in the late 00s after a match. All very friendly, especially considering I was very much the worse for wear.
