Don't think Wood is playing with Delap and we aren't paying £45m to make Delap backup, so if Wood plays enough to score 8, something has gone badly wrong.

Delap on the other hand should relish those, and with Murillo, McAtee and MGW on the pitch there should be plenty of them.

Both Glasner and Wood were asked about Delap by ITV last night. Amusing how Glasner batted it away with the 'I don't talk about other club's players' line, while Woody basically said 'Yeah, Liam's a good player so we're pleased he's joining us'.

Fuck Glasner. If he isn't flexible with formations then he is ill suited to us. He had all pre-season to play around with it. Last night was Megson style of dull. Shades of Ange methinks. His way or no way.

Sangare took about 2 seasons to look any good. I’d rather give the new guy longer than a game to get up to speed.

We picked 3 strikers and none who could get the ball to them. Sangare can, in theory, but he's playing so deep. The wing-backs would provide, in principle, but they are not up to the attacking side of the system yet. And that's an abominably big "yet".
I would put this down to poor selection, and there are several valid reasons why that might be the case, however frustrating it is.
And we very much need to sort out the defensive 3, because so far Cunha seems unsuited to either side, and Milenkovic is maintaining his questionable form from last season. -

Was his performance completely at odds with his pre season form suggested? Yes.Its not too much of a damning position.
