Botafogo is analyzing documents and suspects that John Textor used the sales of Jair , Cuiabano , and Igor Jesus to Nottingham Forest to pay off a US$50 million personal loan he took out with Evangelos Marinakis , the owner of the English club. This information comes from journalist Thiago Veras, on the “Arena Alvinegra” channel this Wednesday (July 22nd).
I'd imagine that at 50 mil the big man has a pretty tight grip of your nuts.
They've rejigged the away tickets scheme I see. Affect anyone here much?
I have a grand total of 4 (official) away points.
I'd like to claim responsibility for their use of the phrase "closed shop" as i've been banging on about this for years.

I've got three and haven't even been a member for two seasons.
I've got 81. I've estimated that the max would be about 120. I'm hoping I have enough not to fuck around with the ballot any more.
I'll bet there are people with way more than you .... Who didn't go to a single game last year.
I've got 64. Reckon I'll struggle to get many this year.
Oddly be better next season as the two years that drop off are when I wasn't an away member and couldn't get to any games.

I've got zero but it looks like, as I'm the best fan, I could pay £40 and be ahead of you anyway. (I won't.)
I have 74 points. I suspect it won’t be as easy as before to pass on tickets to friends, so my points tally may fall a bit for subsequent seasons.

Why not do you think?
From website…
If anybody is found to have purchased tickets just to obtain Away Points and passed the tickets on, then they will be removed from the scheme, will have all their Away Points removed, and will receive a one-year sanction as per the Sanctions Policy here.
Random spot checks will be implemented throughout the season on individual’s tickets, where supporters may need to collect a physical ticket from the away team’s Ticket Office on matchday with photo ID. This will be done to safeguard the integrity of the scheme.
Oh I see. I wonder if they'll actually do that or if it's just rhetoric.
If you are told 5-6 days before the game that you have to collect the ticket from the away ticket office, and it wasn't you intending to go, then you'll just change your plans and go right? They'll also presumably be people who will "have car issues on the M1" and not turn up to collect the ticket.
If they're going to do this properly the collection thing needs to be at short notice (how?) and
they also need to implement the no-show threat that they did for the European games.

About fucking time.
Whilst I and others on here have benefitted from tickets passed around, on balance I think I'd prefer them to rigidly enforce (like the European games) as it's fair and would be a net benefit to everyone (me included).
Even the Villa Europe away game they checked photo id in the turnstile queue.
