Danilo seems to be getting linked with a return to England. I remember thinking when he left that we'd done quite well getting our money back on him (possibly due to the injury he got) but he seems to be thriving in Brazil, and it has got me half thinking about whether we could / should get him back

I don't think we should go back. It rarely works out well.

On the flip side I would be gutted to see him playing for a different PL team than us.

Think this would be a bit different. He was quite young when he was first here. He has progressed and got over his injury. We know him and more importantly he knows us. Whether that is a good or a bad thing would be for him to judge if we make an offer. Best do it before the World Cup in case he stars

I dunno. I think that's hard to judge. I just watched a highlights reel of him this season. Most of the stuff I watched he wouldn't manage in the PL. The standard is much higher.

This. There's a big difference in looking the bollocks playing midfield for a Brazilian top-flight team and then doing it consistently in the Premier League.

He likely also stood out initially at Forest because he was surrounded by weaker players. That's not to say players can't improve, and he might be about to play a part at the World Cup for his country, but I'd be cautious about getting him back just because of his highlights reel this season.

When he came back from injury he was very reluctant to make tackles. Has he managed to get past that?

Having had such an appalling injury, there was also need for mental recovery. Couldn't understand why he wasn't given more time. One of the best young talents we have seen who had got used to the robust nature of the premier league.

Just to be clear - I wasn't criticising him. His reluctance was quite understandable.

I’ve just seen Adama Traore’s stats for the season.

    24 appearance. 0 assists. 0 goals.

And currently out with an injury.

    That went well, Nuno.

If Nuno was on this forum, he'd probably have the right to come back and go "yeah, but Bakwa".

(fwiw, I've not given up with Bakwa yet).

Next up; how is MGW's heading and then we head down to the 6 yard box let's see how Big T gets on rutting with 8" 2mm gauge steel tubing.

[triggered] A player can have significant influence on a match without having any goals or assists - for example causing the opposition to sit deeper, or double bank cover, because of the threat behind.[/triggered]

Which is not to say that he's been any good....that's the risk you take with him, and why you can get him in the situation that they were in.

I actually love Barry and would love to have him back. Did I say I loved him. I meant as a player. Although he does have a lovely smile. There is no doubting his talent. He is also best friends with Murillo who seems to have been in a sulk all season. I think a nice deal to get him back would be ace. It's not as if Botofogo don't owe us money. Thanks Textor. Also they have Álvaro Montoro who we are very interested in. Argy winger and possibly the next big thing.

I SAY YES! BRING 'EM HOME!!!!

    Chicago: Wistful.

I know football isn’t purely stats, but based on what I know about him and West Ham’s league position, I’d suggest he’s been fucking shit.

Oh, fur shure. And there but for the grace of god, and all that.

..but given where they were, it was a legitimate (price/availabilty) roll of the die. I doubt there was anyone in football who expected him to suddenly have the delivery of beckham. Or not get crocked.
