Palace and Everton in discussions about a straight swap of Brennan Johnson for Dwight McNeil.
He's about to be filed under 'not quite as stellar as we thought he might be after all' solid lower-mid prem, upper-champ before a slide down the leagues without anyone noticing journeyman, after that hullabaloo at the time, isn't he?
A bit like Prutts, but with being less of an entertaining cult hero comedy genius along the way.
We got a chuffing good price for him didnt we?
I like it when we get the best of them.
Fingers crossed for Anderson.
His dad will be building up quite a scarf collection.
Palace will still have about £30m outstanding amortisation on Brennan, so presumably the swap is valued at that (or they’d have to book the loss this year), which looks like a much better deal for Everton (who’ve got very little outstanding on McNeil).
I wonder who's idea it was to make the accounting more interesting than the football?
Big Accounting?
Can't be. Accountants don't have ideas.
Apparently he had 0 goals and 2 assists in 26 appearances with Palace. Not good for a guy whose only real skill is scoring goals.
Djed Spence close to joining Inter for €30M
Brennan to Everton is done. I wonder how much involvement Glasner had in Palace's transfer strategy. I hope little to none, because it has been fucking shite. Brennan, Strand Larsen, Nketiah, Benteke - over £100M on garbage.
Brennan is anything but garbage. Largely mismanaged. The others, fair point.
I disagree on Larsen. I think he's good. I'd like him at Forest.
4 goals in 36 Premier League performances. For £48M. You can have him.
Palace overpaid as they were desperate in January. He should have been more in the £25m ballpark.
That said, he's young mobile strong and can score goals. He's only going up.
That's some pretty selective stats too. Here's his career record:
Got to take context also. His bad year at Wolves ... well they were dreadful. No wonder he didn't score many. Then his appearances last year at Palace - he only joined in January and lots were as a sub. Even then, new city, new team, 3 goals in 14 appearances isn't terrible.
